Description: | Batteries located in the basement of a datacenter caught fire. The fire department cut off power to the building and extinguished it later the same day. The building was owned by SK Group and housed a datacenter for internet company Kakao. Major service disruptions occurred due to the fire, and Kakao stated that data recovery was not able to be implemented due to the unexpected power shutoff to the building. The heads of the companies were questioned by the South Korean government, and Kakao faces a class action lawsuit. |
