DER VET User Guide/Services/Retail Energy Time Shift

For utilities which offer TOU rates, DER-VET can be used to evaluate the customer benefits of shifting load from high-price times to low-price times with storage or using DERs to offset load (for TOU or non-TOU rates). This can be paired with a no-export constraint to keep the DERs from generating more power than is consumed by the load in real time.

1. Optimization Details

This service modifies the objective function of the optimization problem by adding the term: Energy Price * Net Load * dt where Net Load is the power flow through the POI including all DER power.
