| Description: | A fire broke out in a BESS container, activating the automatic suppression system. The BESS was at 95% SOC at the time of the fire. Shortly after opening the doors, an explosion occurred, injuring two firefighters. Three firefighters were hospitalized for smoke intoxication. Homes within 500 m were evacuated and 6 houses located 6 km away were put under shelter-in-place. The BESS was cooled with water for ten days. An investigation by BEA-RI is underway. |
