Description: A fire occurred in a BESS container at a solar+storage facility. The BESS was at 87% SOC when a module entered thermal runaway. The container included the racks of batteries, a PCS, and a transformer, each in a separate compartment. The fire propagated from the rack to the PCS. Propagation to the transformer compartment was prevented by firefighters cooling the compartment with water. The fire was extinguished after 3 days.
